“Get Fit, HaveFun, Save Lives” Do you want to do something different in 2008 or into 2009, that will not just improve your fitness and the quality of your life, but something that has the potential to give hope to thousands of Africans? Then sign up for a Get Fit, Have Fun, Save Lives challenge now! Do something remarkable in The Fight Against AIDS We want to ensure that over one million Africans go through our AIDS Prevention Education Programmes by World AIDS Day 2008. It costs just £1 to enable a young person to access our AIDS programmes or just 72p to provide AIDS testing and counselling. Not much when you think of the life saving consequences. Your continuing generosity will enable us to continue to fight for the future of a continent, which is being ravaged by AIDS. Because of your support and the kindness and concern of people like you, we are able to deliver HIV/AIDS education in Uganda, Tanzania, Kenya, Malawi and Zimbabwe. Your generosity is always tremendous and we hope we can support you all the way. Please complete the sign-up form by clicking on the banner above and send it to me by return to enable us to dispatch your Act4Africa t-shirt and any other support materials you require, and please do not hesitate to contact me with any queries. Also, keep us posted of news and photos of your training efforts so that we may put them on our website. If you’d like to know more about this type of event and how you can get involved, please call me on 0161 941 1435 or email joanne@act4africa.org.uk . In the time it has taken you to read this page, nearly 800 people in Africa will have become infected with the HIV virus. I hope that you’ll join us in working towards ensuring that this horrific statistic becomes just a memory of the past. I look forward to hearing from you soon. A final thought:
“Africa is currently home to over 12 million AIDS orphans. Too much to comprehend? If you imagine every child in England, standing at the school gates, waiting to be picked up at the end of a school day and not a single parent or carer arriving to pick them up, because every one of them has been obliterated by AIDs, then it gives you an idea of the scale of the problem.” |
