Lights, camera, Act4Africa!
We have been teasing you for a few weeks about our exciting film project currently underway in Uganda and we think it’s about time we told you a bit more about it.
One of the ways Act4Africa delivers its AIDs prevention education is through acting because using drama and theatre is a fantastic way of communicating. For generations, rural populations in developing countries have relied on the spoken word and traditional forms of communication to share knowledge and exchange information on social, health and agricultural themes, and to provide entertainment.
And now, Act4Africa is going to turn this concept on its head through the use of novel, engaging and original video content featuring children affected by AIDs, acting out some of the most famous and loved movie moments of all time.
Our film crew is currently in Uganda working on the Acting4Africa project and once the short films have been edited in March, they will be uploaded to www.act4africa.org so you can vote for your favourite. According to our chief exec Martin, the filming has been ‘a dream’ so stay tuned for further updates!
