BRAINBOXES help raise £350 for Minehead Mayor's Africa trip.

BRAINBOXES have helped to raise £350 to help former town
councillor and Minehead Mayor Meigan Lyons fund a charity trip to Africa.
As part of a bid to raise £2,225 to cover the costs of an aid mission
with charity Act4Africa, Meigan organised a fundraising charity quiz
at the Minehead and District Social Club.

Meigan said: "I'm thrilled to say that the quiz evening raised £350 -
wonderful addition my fundraising and I want to say thank you to the
almost hundred people who turned up on the night and exercised their
brains to help raise money for Act4Africa ... "

Manto 'Raises the Bar' for Food4Thought Restaurant Campaign

Act4Africa are thrilled to hear of the fun and success that Manchester bars have had in raising money for the recently launched Food4Thought campaign. The campaign went live in April with local restaurants Churchill's, Manto, Taurus and View offering to ask every customer to donate a £1 to Act4Africa to fund the charity's AIDS Education Programmes and Voluntary Counselling and Testing Clinics in Africa.

The bars collectively raised over £700 during the month of April with top fundraisers Manto, raising the most and being awarded the accolade, Act4Africa 'Bar of the Month' for April.

Tim Vine (Star of BBC's 'Not Going Out') to Front Act4Africa's 'Love4Life' Health Education Films

Health education charity Act4Africa is thrilled to announce that top comedian and star of BBC's 'Not Going Out', Tim Vine has signed up to front and do the voice over for 4 short films that the charity will be making in Africa to document their work to combat the AIDS crisis.

The films will be produced by the highly acclaimed Message Media team and will be used to share the positive impact of the work that Act4Africa has had on reducing the threat of HIV and other life limiting illnesses in Africa. The charity's Head of Communications, Lesley-Ann Newman said the films would be used to highlight awareness of the growing health crisis in sub-Saharan Africa and to show audiences how communities in East Africa are being empowered to take control of their own futures through the charity’s education programmes.

Manchester Bars Give Customers ‘Food4Thought’ to Help Fight AIDS in Africa 

Manchester bars and restaurants (Churchills, Manto, View and Taurus) have joined forces with local charity Act4Africa to fight AIDS in Africa. The bars are working together on a ‘Food4Thought’ campaign and will be inviting customers to make a £1 donation every time they eat with them.
