HIV+
InterviewJimmy & Electine are two 'People Living with AIDS' (i.e. PLWA). We met them in Kibera slums, Kenya. For them 'living' is what life is all about. They manage the virus / disease through access to ARV's (anti-retroviral drugs). Each day they take their good news story of being a PLWA and seek to break down the ugliness of stigma and discrimination that so many African's live with as PLWA's. It is often difficult for a PLWA to tell their story (because of stigma etc). Therefore, Jimmy and Electine were very brave and courageous to join us as friends of Act4Africa and tell their story at the end of a sports tournament we had in Kibera. Their message is very powerful: “You can live with AIDS and have dignity...” Hear their story. [AT] Click here to watch
