Pastor Peter
Pastor Peter Masereka has managed the Act4Africa team in Kasese for 4 years now. Kasese is the real Africa, nestling on the edge of the Rwenzori Mountains, near the Congo border. Much of the team's work takes them up into the mountains to work with hill tribes and village schools. The terrain is difficult, many of the roads steep, muddy and bereft of tarmac! Members of Pastor Peter's team have historically had to walk for a full day to get to schools or villages to talk to head teachers and tribal elders just to book a visit from Act4Africa, let alone perform there! Public transport can be either notoriously unreliable or non-existant in the regions most in need of Act4Africa's support.

Last year Yvonne Bremer and a team from Ivy Cottage church (Didsbury, Manchester), some of whom had joined us on expedition in Kasese, pulled together a fantastic night of African entertainment and food to raise the funds to buy a bus for the Kasese team. This is the result of their efforts. [LAN].

Therefore, Jimmy and Electine were very brave and courageous to join us as friends of Act4Africa and tell their story at the end of a sports tournament we had in Kibera. Their message is very powerful: “You can live with AIDS and have dignity...” Hear their story. [AT]
